New blog love!

A Cup of Jo was featured on this adorable blog called DowntownfromBehind. After seeing a few posts I couldn't stop peeking, so many cute New Yorkers riding bikes. If you're in the exploring kinda mood head over there it's fun seeing how people in the city are all dressed up running around town on their bikes, I'm definitely jealous! Here's a taste...

Who wants to go camping?? I DO!!

I ran into this video and fell in love immediately. Maybe it's because I'm a Pacific Northwestern girl and I've always wanted to camp out by the coast, cook rustic food, drink lots of wine, and just hang out with a bunch of friends. Until then, I'll just keep watching this and day dream.

P.s If I do ever make it camping...I soooo want this as my sleeping bag!

I'm obsessing over a few of these gloves and mittens. Especially since my hands are always feeling like they're going to fall off when I take my dog for morning walks. Ouch!
amazing, right?!

Special birthday treats!

Saturday was my good friend Kim's birthday. She has done a lot for me so I wanted to do something a little different and special. I looked all over Pinterest for inspiration, and realized I did a post back in August, remember? So I ran to the closest hardware store and grabbed some gold spray paint, then went to the dollar store to grab some toy dinosaurs to paint. While I was shopping around I ran into some silver glitter. I had an idea to glitter the dinosaurs instead! My plan was to make her a birthday cake topper. It came out super cute!! Although, warning, glitter DOES indeed get everywhere, if you're not careful! I suggest using the kitchen table and doing it over newspaper. All it took was some regular ol' glue and a paintbrush to "paint" the glue on. Then put the glitter in a bowl and grab a spoon to sprinkle it over the wet glue, et voila, your gorgeous birthday cake topper is complete! Oh, and to keep the candle attached, I stuck a pin in the back and used wire cutters to cut off the little ball at the end and slid the bottom the candle over it. The reaction to her cake was adorable! She absolutely loved it and I'm glad I could make something easy and special for her!

(gifts were wrapped in aluminum foil and tied with neon pink string :)

They just make me smile...

The other night I got to see Real Estate live. What an amazing show!! I highly encourage seeing them. So, for that reason, I cannot stop listening to them and when I found this picture I felt they just went hand in hand. Sadly, even though winter hasn't even started yet, these two got me counting down the days until spring.
